Mangalore (104 kms) – 2.5 to 3 hours (Karnataka saarige via uppinangady-kadaba road)
Mysore (170 kms) – 4 to 5 hours (Airavat) || 6 to 7 hours (Karnataka saarige).
Dharmasthala (54 kms) – 2 hours (Karnataka saarige).
Bangalore (270 kms) – 6 – 9 hrs (Rajahamsa, Karnataka saarige).

Right behind the Kukke Subrahmanya temple, is the very tall Sheesha Parvatha (Sheesha mountain) which has a thick placket of green forest of the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Kumara Parvatha is also known as Pushpagiri peak which is hidden most of the time and is only visible when one crosses the Sheesha Parvatha range. Things To Carry For Kumara Parvatha Trek
One should carry a sturdy and waterproof backpack and at least a 2 litres water bottle along with them. One should carry at least 2 pairs of extra clothes with them and sunscreen and sunglasses and a cap/hat so as to protect themselves from the direct rays of the sun. One can have fun while trekking and capture beautiful moments in their camera of the scenic beauty but they are responsible for their own personal items. One needs to have some good sports shoes so as to move on with the trekking. Bring an extra pair of clothes just in any case of an emergency and also socks if one feels the necessity. One should carry their water bottle and some glucon-D energizers so as to keep themselves energized throughout the journey. One is advised to wear comfortable clothing while trekking and also carry their identity proof with them.
One should carry a torch with an extra pair of batteries with them and also the toiletries.
Some basic stuff like caps, goggles, sunscreen, moisturizer, mosquito repellent, slippers, etc should not be forgotten,

Best Time To Visit Kumara Parvatha
Any season except summer is ideal for Kumara Parvatha trek. During winter from October to January and in monsoon from June to September are the best times to visit Kumara Parvatha. During summer the weather becomes too hot and humid and the area becomes prone to forest fire, so it’s not advisable to go for this trek in summers.

I had been to Amarnath and it was one of it’s kind experience for me. The bliss of seeing the deity after the long trek is simply awesome. I’ve not been to any south Indian temples but this looks so nice would love to do ths trek.
