How Milk and Protein Help Children’s Overall Growth #63PercentMoreProtein

How does protein impact my child’s growth

As a second-time parent, a lot of my own dilemmas and confusion around milk and protein were clearer, as I learned over time, through my experiences, hits and misses while raising my first one.

Part of the confusion, I believe, is due to a plethora of information out there. And there are contrasting points of view. Let me tell you what I have found out.

Why is protein important for a kid’s growth?

  • After doing a lot of research, I understood that an adequate amount of protein is required for the growth and development of the child.
  • And just as adults, we ensure an appropriate amount of protein for building and repairing muscles, supporting bone, hair & nail health, protein benefits kids as well in the same way.
  • I have often noticed that my kids crave junk food or snacks when they are tired & exhausted, typically after sports or a tiring day at school. Have you noticed that you also tend to do so yourself, reaching out for coffee or a chocolate bar in case you delay your breakfast after a run or intense workout? Wondered why? This occurs as your body needs energy. Integrating protein into your daily meals proves beneficial as it prolongs the feeling of fullness, offers satiety, and prevents sudden hunger pangs.

Protein kisme hota hai – Is milk protein important for kids?

I include good sources of protein – eggs for breakfast and dal for lunch on most days. Fish & soybeans occasionally. But kids are always in a hurry, they are distracted. They somehow want to be done with food, right? You blink and that bowl of dal is left untouched. Or the entire school lunch box of eggroll comes back unopened as they got too busy playing during the lunch hour!

They tend to miss out on their protein intake so milk protein is my other option to ensure they are getting adequate protein in their diet.

2. As part of the 34 vital nutrients it has 100% milk protein and that makes me feel assured. Complan also supports 2x faster growth in kids.

What is the best time to drink milk and protein?

Breakfast, evening time or at bedtime are all suitable timings in my experience. However, I am mindful to give it along with a balanced diet. It is never a substitute for the meal itself.

Final thoughts – How milk and protein help children’s overall growth

I know, most of us focus on ensuring fruits, salads, home home-cooked meals for our kids but ensuring the right amount of protein sources could often get missed out. This could manifest in various ways as they grow up and also inhibit their growth trajectory.  So as a second-time parent, I would say ensuring the right amount of protein sources including milk in my kid’s diet is a key step towards building a good foundation for his lifelong health.
